    Andrea Dal Zennaro is a Fashion Designer from Venice, he has been working in this industry for 15 years. He was born in Venice, Italy, where he lived and studied. Andrea graduated in Art and Design, after that he developed a strong passion for fashion especially for sneakers.

    His first professional opportunity as a fashion designer came from the well-known Industry of Designer of Alberto del Biondi in Padua where he worked.

    Within ten years Andrea managed to learn and acquire a complete understanding of the sneakers’ world. He can without doubt bring your bare ideas to life, following you through concept development, creation and production. In 2006 he moved to Milan, the Italian city of fashion industry and design, for a collaboration with the brand Dolce & Gabbana.
    Thanks to his acquired qualities and abilities he manages to create unique and original items within this area, giving the brand the opportunity to consolidate their position as sneakers designer.

    A period of collaborations stars for Andrea , working for different brands of French and Italian haute couture, thanks to his creations these companies enter in a new world for them, the world of the casual&sport footwear keeping their very own brand identity.

    The idea is a winner and is able to obtain satisfactory results not only for himself but also for those companies that have seen, as a result, an exponential increase in business volume.
    Simply "Amazing" will be said about his creations made for the fashion show of Trussardi’ 100 years celebration, by the fashion blogosphere.

    How do you "prepare" and how do you study the trends of the new collection?

    The preparation stage is the most important stage for the success of the collection therefore it is the longest. I do not usually get my inspirations only from attending trade shows or browsing magazines (shoes or fashion) but I like to take any input that can come from the outside, eg. a vintage car, a movie or even poking into historical archives of fashion. As it happened when in London, where, thanks to a friend, I managed to sneak in to Saint Martins pretending to be a student, where I found a source of ideas that still help me today.

    After the briefing with the client, what are the steps leading to the creation of the collection?

    After a briefing, there is a moment of contemplation more or less long, a period that I need to focus on the key points to make, after that I sketch on paper the ideas and details that I think fit with the customer requirements. Then I leave everything aside and I get distracted...

    Innovation or tradition?

    I would say innovation. I believe that means interpreting the tradition with a different reading. Thus, innovation can be more or less visible and marked. But when a customer asks me to design a model for his collection there is already the idea of innovation, my interpretation of the brand, which can 'be more or less clear and strong. To innovate, however, one must always look back.

    Which of your creation has had more success in the market, even without naming the brand that appointed it​​?

    The shoe that was more successful, without naming the brand, is called the United Kingdom. This is a particular type of sneaker, it has a metal plate inserted in the upper part and a small insert in the sole, these became the "trademarks" of the same brand making this shoe unequivocal and recognizable even from a distance. And to say it all, it is still the best-selling shoe after 6 year.

    What are the brands that are of inspiration for you and for what?

    Few years ago I would have replied: Dior or Gucci ..but now (in addition to them who have made ​​the history of fashion) my vision is much broader and more often is not only individual designer who gives me the 'inspiration but a combination of things, of emotions that I have learned to synthesize in the form of strokes and lines.

    What is the strangest commission that happened to you?

    Some years ago I got a call at 23pm from a designer who, after having finished watching the movie "Mission Impossible" said to me: " Andrea, I want to do a shoe for a super hero, for a person that, if called to action, he can put his shoes on in a second! "...

    Andrea Dal Zennaro e' un Fashion Designer di Venezia e svolge questa professione da una quindicina di anni. Nasce a Venezia, Italia, dove ha vissuto e studiato. Diplomandosi in arte e design, matura una forte passione per la moda, in particolar modo le sneakers.

    La prima oppurtunita' professionale nel mondo del Fashion Designer la svolge presso la nota Industria del Designer, di Alberto Del Biondi a Padova, dove in quasi dieci anni riesce ad acquisire completa padronanza di tutte le fasi di sviluppo del mondo delle sneaker.

    Nel 2006 si trasferisce a Milano, citta' rinomata nel mondo per la moda e design, per collaborare presso la griffe Dolce & Gabbana, grazie alla quale riesce ad affermarsi, creando delle vere e proprie produzioni uniche ed originali nel suo genere, consolidando la stessa Griffe nel mondo delle sneakers.

    Attualmente collabora con la nota azienda toscana Serafini, dove ha avuto modo di riscoprire la artigianalita' del Made In Italy acquisendo un know-how sempre piu' specifico nel settore della calzatura sportiva. Andrea dal Zennaro oggi e' considerato il nuovo Guru delle sneakers dove ogni sua creazione crea tendenza e ispirazione ad altri stilisti del settore, creando nuovi prodotti che fino ad pochi anni fa erano solo immaginazione di chi della moda se ne intende davvero.
